Hillel-key Principles of Exceptional Jewish Education

January 30th, 2010

As a parent, you may become much more aware of the need for your Childs better education. One of the key principles of exceptional education is that linguistic and cultural knowledge is a resource—the more you know, the better off you are. Jewish education is the best that it can be in all of its variety. Hillel brings into one educational web portal the content of many publications, conferences, and thinkers. Hillel develops the whole child, helping students grow intellectually, emotionally, physically, and spiritually through an integrated educational framework. The Samuel Scheck Hillel Community School can be more than a Jewish independent school; parents’ emotional investment in the school may be deeper and exist on many more levels. Students study bible, prayer, holidays and rituals, values and Jewish social studies. What makes the Hillel unique in this community is the Jewish tradition that is carried out in all areas of school life.

Members of the school community come from across the globe, including the United States, Europe, Latin America, Israel and Africa, and are of many denominations within Judaism. Hillel believes that a strong relationship and commitment to Judaism begins with a formal education rooted in the traditions and teachings of our faith. Students are required to take Hebrew in order to fulfill the foreign language requirement; students may opt for both Hebrew and Spanish. Bible, Ethics, Nach, Jewish/Israel Advocacy, Tefilah and Talmud comprise the bedrock of the Judaic Studies program. Guidance, field trips, Shabbatonim, enrichment programs, holiday celebrations and the arts are infused with an additional level of Jewish awareness.

From early childhood through Grade 12, Hillel cultivates and motivates students’ interests and talents to prepare them for college admission. Children in the Early Childhood program are taught in a warm and nurturing environment that is interactive in a way that helps to stimulate individual growth and eccentricity. Hillel encourages children to become independent learners, to explore their Jewish identity, to discover their environment, promoting personal creativity and expression. The Upper School spans grades 9 through 12 and expands on Jewish studies and teaches students to follow a life of Torah learning and mitzvot, to the land and country of Israel, as well as appreciation for Western cultures. Upper School adheres to the requirements established by the Florida State Legislature with the addition of specific Hillel requirements outlined in the graduation requirements. Hillel applies innovative ideas, cutting edge technology, proven models, data and practical know-how. Hillel is strongly committed to helping students find the school that best matches their needs, interests and abilities.

While a strong education is more important than ever, Hillel has provided a warm, positive environment where students are given the individual attention that helps them develop into stronger, more confident young adults. The carefully balanced program is designed to cultivate children’s moral, intellectual, spiritual, aesthetic and physical qualities through a rigorous curriculum, religious and cultural experiences, competitive athletics, comprehensive service learning and enrichment opportunities. If you have always wanted your child to grow up learning Jewish tradition, Hillel’s The Ben Lipson Hillel Community High School just might be the school for you to try.

By providing home schoolers with the tools they need to develop a strong faith and Christian worldview, we believe that we are helping to equip warriors for the cause of Christ. Our Home School Educational Philisophy

The Jubilee Academy Preschool-12 Home School Program is designed to be a home schooling partnership with parents and children. Through this partnership, we provide educational services to meet the needs of every home school student enrolled, especially those with learning disabilities and gifted students.

The Jubilee Academy understands that the rate at which children mature varies greatly from child to child. In addition, the specific learning style of each child differs greatly. As such, we do our best to provide a customizable home school curriculum. Our “Any pace” structure enables home schooling children to progress towards achievable annual goals that families can set together. By forcing children to proscribe to a rigid set of deadlines and grading processes, we believe that the traditional schools are stifling the natural curiosity inside every child.

Home schooling students who are growing and maturing is the mission of Jubilee Academy and the desire of our hearts in Christ. Home schooling students who are developing their God-given talents, cultivating appreciation of beauty and the arts, and nurturing the imagination is the mission of The Jubilee Academy Home School Program.

The Jubilee Academy is a community of teachers and home schoolers working together to provide home schooling children around the world with a world-class education with no ceilings or boundaries.

The Jubilee Academy Home School Program believes that an education cannot be complete without children gaining an understanding of God’s perfect plan for their lives. We believe we can teach this understanding by giving home school students a background in God’s relationship with man through studying the Scriptures. We offer several Bible courses that can enable home school students to develop spiritually as well as intellectually. Wisdom can only be attained by seeking God’s will. The Bible says that all the knowledge in the world doesn’t amount to anything if we don’t have wisdom.
